The colours of women
Olay’s columnist Nayla explains how women are like the colours of the rainbow.
I often like to compare a woman to the colours of a rainbow.
She has many different elements - including thoughts, feelings, energies and emotions, just like a rainbow is made up of many different colours. What’s more, she is bright and beautiful - a natural wonder.
A woman’s thoughts, feelings, emotions and energies are often so intense, like the colours of a rainbow, that if it was converted to a picture it might give you the most amazing picture on planet earth. But unfortunately, no such machines exist to convert all those colours of a woman into a picture!
One of my favorite ‘colours’ or features that many women possess, is when they behave modest when they know they look stunning.
Tell a woman: “You look amazing tonight”, most may smile and say “thank you”, but many of them would say, “No, I look normal”, knowing very well they don’t! Another colour I enjoy observing in women is when a woman will ask a man angrily: “What are you staring at?”, while deep inside her colours swirl in happiness, as she knows she is being stared at because she is looking so pretty.
The truth is, we women love attention and will pretend it annoys us. Yet, on the other hand, if that attention never crosses our path, then we feel “unattractive”. A look no matter how annoying from someone else, is always a confirmation of; “I look good”.
Another very beautiful colour among women, I think, is the fact that as they get older, the more beautiful they become, because they approach life with so much more confidence and energy - meaning the more colours they give off. I’ve even seen women in their 60’s being flirted with!
I have also met many women who are not considered as conventionally beautiful; but they use the other colours of their personalities - like their sense of humour, kindness, talents or ambitiousness to make the world stand up and notice them. And, so often, because they project these colours so well, they go far in life and end up being very successful and happy.
What I really want to say is; all women, regardless of how they look or who they are, are all made of different colours.
Even if you don’t feel beautiful on the outside, you are made up of so many different colours - you just have to realize which ones are most prominent, it can be any of your characteristics, and then project them to the world around you. You will be amazed how many people will look at you and see that magical colour.
We are all made up of stunning colours; we just have to let them shine.
